As Injection Workshop Manager, you will be responsible for organising, planning and monitoring production in order to achieve the defined objectives. You will help to improve production processes in order to increase productivity and ensure compliance.

As such, your tasks will include:

  • Organisation/Production management
    • Monitor and optimise productivity and manufacturing processes
    • Monitor indicators and drive industrial performance: productivity (OEE, scrap rate, etc.), meeting planned deadlines, etc.
    • Participate in planning meetings and mould meetings to anticipate changes and ensure fluidity in the workshop (scheduling, priorities, deadlines).
    • Carrying out any technical work required to ensure the workshop runs smoothly, in support of technicians and managers
    • Ensure the quality of the products manufactured
    • Monitor internal and external failures, analyse the root cause and propose actions to deal with it in partnership with the quality department
    • Draw up and monitor adjustment sheets
    • Be responsible for qualifying moulds/presses and monitoring various tests on site
    • Monitor the production start-up of new tooling and ensure a smooth transition from mould testing to series production, in partnership with the Technical Department
    • Ensure compliance with good manufacturing practice and documentation
    • Enforce safety, quality, hygiene and waste sorting guidelines
    • Ensure that technical data (parts lists, ranges and instructions, mould files) are respected and kept up to date
    • Develop, implement and optimise processes for presses, workstations, peripherals, etc.
  • Management
    • Maintain a good social climate within the teams and lead the team leaders in the workshop
    • Assessing skills and training needs, preparing and following up individual interviews with the people who report directly to you
    • Plan and organise the work of employees and give clear instructions to teams (work orders / production resources / workforce)
    • Monitor the safety and working conditions of injection workshop staff
    • Provide technical support to operational teams
    • Lead injection workshop meetings (technicians and operators) and draw up the minutes
    • Apply cross-functional management and maintain good communication with the scheduling and mechanical departments
    • Monitor holidays, planning, etc.
  • Other activities
    • Participating in regular meetings
    • Participate in pre-project meetings when requested by the R&D department or in feedback on projects linked to production
    • Be proactive in finding solutions to improve productivity, responsiveness and production quality
    • Participate in the preparation of the budget
    • Carry out any additional tasks normally associated with his/her role or compatible with his/her expertise, within the limits of his/her available time

 

Profile required

  • Education and experience 
    • You have completed 2 to 5 years‘ higher education in plastics processing or production management and have at least 5 years’ significant initial experience in a plastics processing industrial environment, including team management.

 

  • Personal qualities 
    • You are autonomous, pragmatic, rigorous and have good organisational and analytical skills
    • You’re a team player with good communication skills, and you’re looking for industrial performance while guaranteeing product conformity

 

  • Technical skills 
    • Good knowledge of plastic injection, production resources and injection moulds
    • Tool maintenance
    • Good command of IT tools

 

  • Managerial skills
    • You are recognised for your leadership and interpersonal skills
    • You are a hands-on manager and are capable of being demanding and taking decisions, while remaining caring and attentive to your colleagues
