Acting for gender equality

Gender equality in the workplace has been declared a major national cause and requires the involvement of all. As of May 2018, the French Ministry of Labor instigated reflections to build the methodology that should allow all companies with more than 50 employees to move from an obligation of means to a performance obligation in terms of gender equality within 3 years. These discussions led to the introduction of a gender equality index, which came into force on March 1, 2020 for legal entities with more than 50 employees. Composed of 4 indicators, the index allows each company to measure where it stands in terms of equality in the workplace, the minimum score expected being 75/100. All companies with at least 50 employees must calculate and publish their gender equality index each year on March 1.
